I had the greatest pleasure to be a part of a two day Congress to support the development of the new HOSPES, La Scuola di Stresa.

It was a great honour to be with Alfonso Iaccarino of Don Alfonso 1890 Restaurant, the much celebrated Chef and restaurateur in Italy and abroad, and former student of La Scuola di Stresa. His vision of having a totally sustainable operation is fantastic and is actually in the making.

As always, it was wonderful to speak to the proud students that will hopefully one day have a placement here in the UK, where they can learn from the abundance of great professionals and leaders in the hospitality industry.

I was greatly honoured to be asked by the The MICHELIN Guide to present the Welcome & Service Award at the Michelin Ceremony Great Britain & Ireland 2023 at Silverstone last night.

The Award went to the amazing Declan Maxwell and his Front of House team at Spitalfields in Dublin. So well deserved!!!

On Monday we opened the doors to the 'Pearly Cow Restaurant' at No.1 York by GuestHouse Hotels. A fabulous concept, exquisite dishes and delivered with gracious, warm hospitality. This is only the first 'Pearly Cow Restaurant'. We are soon to open another two in the not too distant future.

Well done to everyone who's been involved in the creation of this wonderful project.

I am absolutely honoured to have received the Chris Beaumont Special Award, sponsored by Bidfood UK at the Springboard Awards of Excellence. Springboard is working incredibly hard to inspire, train, educate and launch young people into the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry. As many of my fellow colleagues know, the industry is definitely not an easy one to be in, but it sure is rewarding. The progression, opportunities and paths individuals can go down are unique and like no other industry.

We have all been through unimaginable times but I for one, cannot wait to work with our young people again and see them grow and flourish in the incredible hospitality industry.
